No region in New Zealand matches its almost supernatural scenic splendour. Utterly remote, it is stupendous in any weather; timeless waterfalls, deep fiords, ancient rainforest and granite peaks along shimmering, silent, and sometimes misty waterways flocking with wondrous sea-life including resident dolphin pods. Almost all of Fiordland falls within the boundaries of Fiordland National Park New Zealand's largest, which boasts two of New Zealand's deepest lakes, its highest rainfall and some of the world's rarest birds. This place is such a treasure that United Nations have deemed it a World Heritage Area, and it is one of the most unique experiences New Zealand has to offer.
