Wellington Accommodation

Wellington is largely accessible on foot and hence accommodation in the city centre is a top priority for most visitors.

There is a wide variety of accommodation available in the form of hotels, motels, backpacker hostels and B&Bs (bed and breakfasts).

There is also decent accommodation available in Kapiti Coast, Waiakane and Paraparaumu. Accommodation for accessing the Cook Strait to travel by ferry to the South Island is based in Wellington.

The suburbs of Hutt Valley, Paekakariki and Plimmerton all offer good accommodation facilities in the form of campsites and backpacker hostels. There is good public transport from these places to the Wellington city centre.
